The eight generously sized bedrooms are spread over three floors, with two on the lower ground floor, two on the ground floor and the remaining four on the first floor. Four are blessed with luxurious en suite bathrooms appointed to a very high specification, not least the master suite with its Jacuzzi bath, separate shower and twin washbasins. This room also boasts a private balcony overlooking the garden, a delightful spot for a peaceful morning coffee or a little stargazing at nightfall. The main living areas are on the ground floor, including two stunning, relaxing lounges with glamorous white leather sofas and stylish Barcelona chairs.

The beautifully presented indoor dining room provides a serene setting for an intimate dinner party, however most guests prefer to dine alfresco, taking advantage of the balmy Mediterranean climate and the property’s magnificent outdoor facilities. There’s a vast shaded terrace, complete with rattan lounge furniture, as well as a separate patio with an outdoor dining suite, both overlooking the large private pool and immaculately tended lawn.

Villa Cristian live-in housekeeper/cook is on hand to serve drinks, prepare breakfast and up to two main meals throughout your stay should you wish, and for a large party of guests holidaying together this is wonderful asset. With the villa’s delightful thatched chiringuito at the far end of the garden, however, there are bound to be some regular volunteers to play bartender and chef – who could resist a chance to sizzle some steaks or freshly caught fish on the barbecue in a setting like this?
